Convention & Trade Show Committee

Plans the agenda, content location and combination of services to be provided at each convention and trade show. Recommends fees and policies, solicits new vendors, and performs an annual critique. Evaluates the needs of Associate Members, exhibitors, and attendees making relevant recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Nurse Scholarship Committee

Updates the application forms, arranges and conducts personal interviews with eligible candidates statewide, evaluates academic interest dedication to the residents of VHCA member facilities, and financial need. Payment for Services Committee

Monitors issues relative to payment rates, regulations and other financial issues for all payors of long term care services in Virginia. Makes appropriate recommendations involving Medicaid payment policies of the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS).

Quality of Care Committee

Addresses issues and trends relating to the quality of care provided in long term care facilities. Provides guidance in evaluating and defining quality of care measurements, including staffing, training, services and structure.

Closely monitors state agencies that regulate long term care providers. Reviews all proposed regulations. Recommends changes in regulatory proposals including the nursing facility survey process.

Virginia Center for Assisted Living (VCAL) Committee

Addresses issues and trends relevant to assisted living facilities in Virginia. Develops strategies to expand services to meet the unique needs of Assisted Living Facilities members. Monitors legislation impacting Assisted Living Facilities and suggests appropriate educational program material.
