Mr. Spencer L. Moffett

Mr. Spencer Moffett, 77 years old, is originally from Warrenton, Virginia. He graduated from Warrenton High School in 1951. Upon graduating from the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy in 1955, Mr. Moffett practiced pharmacy until retirement at the end of 1998. He was a member of Phi Delta Chi Fraternity, was first employed at Gardiners’ Drugs in Warrenton, then two active duties as a U.S. Army pharmacist at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and Ft. Clayton, Canal Zone, and then worked at Clear and Childress Drugs in Colonial Heights, Virginia. In 1962, he was one of the founders of Chester Drugs.
Mr. Moffett was active in the Chester Jaycees, the young Republican Club, and was an alternate delegate to the Republican Convention in Norfolk in the sixties. He served as a Deacon at Chester Baptist Church, sang with the “Village Voices,” and was also a member of the local chapter with AARP. Mr. Moffett enjoyed 30 years of private flying, and was co-owner of Chesterfield Flyers. For 14 years he participated in the Senior Olympics, earning several silver and bronze medals. Mr. Moffett served a four-year term on the Chesterfield Health Center Commission, appointed by the Board of Supervisors from 1999 – 2003 to oversee Lucy Corr Village and continues to serve on the Lucy Corr Village Foundation.
Mr. Spencer Moffett is a resident at Lucy Corr Village in Chesterfield where he has resided since March 2008.
