Who's Who in Virginia's Long Term Care Facilities
Mrs. Donna Cook
- Back
Ms.
Donna Cook, 77 years old, along with her husband Major Jack Cook and
daughter Susan Henry co-founded JADON Cattery in 1964. Based in
Warrenton, Virginia, Ms. Cook has bred generations of prize-winning
Persian cats for show and for sale, winning titles such as Cat Fanciers
Association’s National Best Cat, Best Cat in Premiership, Best Kitten
and Best Longhair at the 1996 CFA International Show. Remarkably, Ms.
Cook bred three generations of winners from a single line, a rare feat
that further enhanced the reputation of the JADON Cattery.
Ms. Cook spent decades shampooing, blow-drying, combing and primping her cats. However, she says the most important part of the cat shows was the friendships with her fellow cat fanciers, many of whom still keep in contact and pay her regular visits.
Ms. Cook is a resident at Fauquier Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Warrenton where she has resided since March 2009.
