Mr.
David Freeman, 94 years old, grew up in Broadlands, Illinois. He went to
college at the University of California and received his Bachelor’s
Degree. He joined the Air Force and was a Colonel who flew B-26 bombers
during World War II. Mr. Freeman still wears his uniform every year on
Veterans Day. After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Freeman turned to
art and created beautiful art pieces out of metal. He also volunteered
for a crisis hotline and the Lyons Club. Today, Mr. Freeman can be found
anytime of day singing patriotic songs and sharing his war stories.
Mr. Freeman is a resident at Sentara Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Windermere in Virginia Beach where he has resided since January 2006.
