Mr. Wilbert “Skip” Foster, 92 years old, attended Virginia Union
University (VUU) and has attended almost all of VUU’s Panther football
and basketball games for over 70 years with the exception of when he was
pursing his MBA at Boston University or had a hospital stay. He was
appointed as the first chairman of the Hall of Fame Committee for VUU
after his suggestions to recognize outstanding accomplishments of
Panther athletes.
As an adjunct instructor, he taught economics and accounting to students at VUU for over 25 years. He served as the Treasurer and Manager of the former Richmond Teachers’ Credit Union for 34 years.
His involvement in the Richmond community include being a charter member of the Metropolitan Business League, one of the three founders of Club 533, a judge at local election polls, and the treasurer and executive board member of the Richmond Branch of the NAACP.
Mr. Foster has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Omega Psi Phi’s honor for 70 years of continuous membership at the fraternity’s national leadership conference in 2007. In 2006, he was lauded as one of the “Legends” of VUU.
Mr. Foster is a resident at Golden LivingCenter – Elizabeth Adam Crump in Richmond where he has resided since September 2007.
