The Association has retained the law firm of Hancock, Daniel, Johnson & Nagle to assist VHCA in passing legislation in the 2008 General Assembly session to address the potential negative impact of the State Supreme Court’s decision in the Alcoy case. As part of that effort we ask that you utilize the suggested letter (DOC) to writing to your legislators regarding the State Supreme Court decision. Please send the letter on your letterhead to both your state senator and state delegate and feel free to personalize your letters as appropriate.

For those of you who reside or work in legislative districts where the outcome of the November elections is in question, please modify the letter accordingly and send it to the candidates. The letter serves as early information on an issue that the General Assembly will need to address in their 2008 session. We will organize personal visits with many legislators on this topic this fall but we think it is important to get this early communication to them now.

Your letters should be sent to the district offices of your state delegate and senator. Thank you for your assistance in this important effort!
