Overview

Join us on October 30 for a day-long program focused on this year’s MDS changes.  Judy W. Brandt will:

• explain the coding instructions for the October RAI manual changes;
• review the new skilled nursing facility Quality Reporting System (SNF QRP) measures and the related new MDS items;
• examine the coding and scheduling changes for the New Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM)–the proposed update to the existing RUG-IV system; and
• provide any other relevant CMS updates.

This program is designed for administrators, directors of nursing, MDS Coordinators, corporate consultants, and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) members involved in coding the MDS.

Judy Brandt is one of the nation’s leading experts on skilled nursing facility clinical Medicare compliance, Five-Star Rating System, Quality Measures, and the MDS/RAI process.  She has been a state surveyor and RAI Manager for the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Ms. Brandt has assisted providers and the U.S. government as a legal expert in Medicare and Medicaid fraud cases, and other various government initiatives.  She often serves on Independent Review Organization (IRO) teams for corporate integrity agreements (CIA) for skilled nursing facilities. Ms. Brandt is also a master teacher for the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC).

Continuing Education | NAB Registry

This program has been approved for Continuing Education 5 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20191029-5-A46034-IN.

Administrators must provide VHCA-VCAL with their NAB ID when registering for events. The NAB ID will be required to allow us to submit your continuing education credits to NAB. Learn more about the NAB ID and CE Registry.  Please note, the NAB ID is not the same as your Virginia administrator license number.

VHCA-VCAL Cancellation & Refund Policies

The administrator of a center has the ability to cancel without a penalty if federal or state surveyors/inspectors are in a center.  Cancellations for credit card payments are subject to a 10% service fee. Refunds will be granted as follows: full refund if received by the specified registration deadline; one-half of the registration fee if cancellation received three working days prior to the scheduled event. No refunds or credits will be granted if cancellation is received after the three working days deadline. Substitutions are always welcome.
