Overview
CMS has finalized a proposal to replace the current Medicare RUGs-based payment model with a new per-diem payment system called the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM) beginning on October 1, 2019. Join us on November 15, 2018 for a day-long education program to learn about this fundamental shift in the Medicare payment methodology that eliminates RUGs methodology and replaces it with a patient characteristic model no longer driven by therapy minutes.
This program will cover general background on the new payment model across multiple aspects of the business operations (nursing, coding, MDS, etc.), as well as potential downstream impacts on other programs (Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, etc.). Our experts will present case studies to show you how a per diem rate will be calculated under the new per-diem payment system and how the patient characteristics will impact this rate.
