Carmen Vélez, 73
Born in Nyack, New York, Carmen Vélez was the oldest of eight children, with five sisters and two brothers. Growing up in a large family taught her responsibility and the importance of caring for others, values that guided her throughout her life.
She built a long and successful career, working at a law firm for 40 years, where she became known for dedication, professionalism, and kindness to her coworkers. Along the way, Carmen crossed paths with Donald Trump before he was in politics, and he had her fired twice!
A devoted mother, Carmen raised one daughter of whom she is very proud. She is also a loving grandmother to three grandchildren who bring her endless joy. Family has always been at the center of her life; she stays close to her siblings and cherishes family gatherings filled with laughter and stories.
She fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling the world, exploring new cultures, and making lasting memories. Her faith is an important part of who she is, and as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she lives by strong spiritual values and finds peace and purpose through her beliefs.
