Elizabeth Shields, 68
Ms. Elizabeth Shields is a current resident at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, Virginia. Ms. Shields is from Rockbridge County, Virginia. She enjoyed spending her younger years riding dressage horses and has a special place in her heart for her favorite horse, an Arabian. Ms. Shields is a self-taught yogi, who enjoys organic fruits and vegetables which she grew herself, as well as raising chickens.
Her favorite movie is “1917” and she enjoys books written by Gabriel Garcia, Mark Hennison, and Lee Smith. She also loves music and played the banjo, fiddle and the accordion in a traveling band, where she traveled through the Appalachias and fell in love with Southwest Virginia.
Ms. Shields also enjoys art and even spent time studying under Chinese artist Dr. Hsiung Ju. While she was studying art, she traveled to Edinburg, Scotland. Ms. Shields went to Washington and Lee University where she studied landscape architecture. She enjoyed working with plants, as well as her clients in this field and received a national award for her hard work and designs.
We believe Ms. Shields in an amazing example of an extraordinary woman with an amazing story to tell.
