Ms. Patricia BrownMs. Patricia (Pat) Brown was born in Danville, Illinois. her mother constantly encouraged her to break barriers and follow her passions—she did just that.

Ms. Brown always knew she wanted to make a difference with her work. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a bachelor degree in liberal arts and sciences, she became interested in attending law school. She applied to Emory University Law School but was denied admission because she was a woman. Luckily, Ms. Brown is not the type of person who gives up easily. She fought her way into law school and graduated with a doctorate in law in 1970. She became the first female lawyer in the state of Georgia.

There’s always something interesting to talk about with Ms. Brown. She is continuing her mother’s work of encouraging those around her to break barriers and do what they are passionate about.
