Activity Training Course Highlights: Send Your Staff

Act1Send your staff who need to be qualified as an activity professional to work in a nursing center or assisted living center to the February Introduction to Activity Management in Long Term Care course.

  • This week-long, 45 hour course offers comprehensive training in programming and documentation.
  • Attendees will get advice and practical tips on how to design activities that support positive aging, build a sense of community, promote residents’ rights, and more.

 

Why attend? This course meets all federal and state requirements for activity professionals in Virginia working in either nursing centers or assisted living facilities including:

  • the requirements of 22 VAC 40-73-1120 F 5 of the Standards for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities. In addition, the Division of Licensing Programs of the Virginia Department of Social Services has approved this course as a training program in adult group activities and in recognizing and assessing the needs of residents.
  • the Requirements of Participation for nursing facilities.

Who should attend? This program is designed for individuals that need to be qualified as an activity professional to work in a nursing center or assisted living center. The training will also meet the needs of activity professionals working in other settings primarily serving persons 55 years and older including subacute, specialized care, or adult day services.
