This week three members of the VHCA-VCAL Board of Directors met with members of the Virginia Congressional Delegation as part of the AHCA/NCAL Congressional Briefing.  Vice Chairman David Tucker, President and COO of CCR; Immediate Past Chairman David Abraham, Executive Vice President/CEO of Beth Sholom Village; and Assisted Living Director Doris-Ellie Sullivan, Chief Operating Officer of Retirement Unlimited, Inc.

VHCA-VCAL members met with staff members from the offices of:

• Rob Wittman (R-VA-1)
• Morgan Griffith (R-VA-9)
• Barbara Comstock (R-VA-10)

The discussions with Congressional staff centered on increasing quality in the long term care profession, the importance of Medicaid funding, and the increasing regulatory burden of recent changes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
