What’s new: CMS recently updated several surveyor resources that can be found in the Survey Resources folder on the CMS Nursing Homes CMS Nursing Home Requirements of Participation webpage.

• The changes made were technical and appear to be made to update any outdated information that is no longer applicable.  

The changes include the following: 

• On the Entrance Conference Worksheet, the need to submit the CMS-672 was removed related to CMS’s previous directive that it would stop using this form.  
• On several Survey Pathways, the surveyors were asked to retrieve information from Section GG, instead of Section G, of the MDS, related to MDS changes that occurred October 1, 2023. 
• On CMS-802, CMS removed the request for information about “worsened pressure ulcers at any stage.” For the CMS-802, CMS requests facilities to provide all residents with pressure ulcers not present on admission.   
• Other updates were specific to surveyor processes, both during the offsite portion of the survey, and during an extended survey.
