Deadline approaching: Individuals interested in applying for the 2025 Regirer Nursing Scholarships or submitting nominations for any of the VHCA-VCAL Awards honoring LTC professionals, volunteers, and activity programming have until Friday, June 27 to submit their completed applications.

About the scholarships: Each year VHCA-VCAL’s Commonwealth Long Term Care Foundation awards scholarships to employees in VHCA-VCAL member nursing centers and assisted living communities who want to become LPNs or RNs and continue their careers in long term care.

• Scholarships of up to $2,000 are available to qualified applicants.

About the awards: Members are encouraged to submit awards in all categories. Details on award criteria and nomination materials forms are available online.

• The Recognition Awards honor individuals for lifetime achievement, administrator, DONs, and CNAs of the year.
• The D.A. “Woody” Brown Community Involvement Awards honor outstanding activity and event programs.
• The Volunteer of the Year Awards recognize the outstanding efforts of adult, teen, and group volunteers.
