DSS Updates Regulations for Adult Day Center Name Change

Regulation changes: Per an August 15 memo, DSS has formally revised the affected regulations to change the term “adult day care centers” to “adult day centers.”

  • There are no new requirements in the amendments, which are effective as of August 14, 2024.

 

The change in terms has been made throughout the following regulations:

  • 22VAC40-61, Standards and Regulations for Licensed Adult Day Centers
  • 22VAC40-73, Standards for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities
  • 22VAC40-80, General Procedures and Information for Licensure
  • 22VAC40-90, Regulation for Background Checks for Assisted Living Facilities and Adult Day Centers

 

Why the changes: The regulations have been updated to enact HB 1498 passed in the 2024 General Assembly session.
