Elizabeth Cabusora Named to Future Leaders Class
Elizabeth Cabusora, administrator at York Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and The Hamilton Assisted Living, has been selected for AHCA/NCAL’s 2022/23 Future Leaders in Long Term Care program. The year-long program offers training and guidance to long term care/post-acute (LTPAC) professionals. She began her career in long term care as a CNA, earned her LPN degree, and received her administrator’s license in 2020.
Currently Cabusora is working to complete her masters of health services administration and also serves as the Secretary for VHCA-VCAL’s Tidewater District. She has shown a commitment to lead others in providing quality, person-centered resident care and determination to overcome challenges.
“Elizabeth’s professional growth and commitment to long term care even when faced with the pressures of the pandemic, make her an ideal future leader who will benefit immensely from this program,” said Keith Hare, President and CEO of VHCA-VCAL.
A native of the Philippines, Cabusora immigrated to the US in 2003. An LPN by training, she has worked in private duty nursing, as a resident care coordinator, and as a nurse manager before beginning her AIT and becoming and administrator. She resides in Suffolk, Virginia.
Since 2004, AHCA/NCAL has hosted LTPAC professionals in the Future Leaders program. Selected participants both demonstrate leadership potential and represent the interests of both state and national LTC providers. The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction, and leadership. The year-long program kicks off with a two-day symposium, “Future Leaders of Long Term Care in America.” Selected participants have demonstrated leadership potential and an interest in representing the interests of LTC providers at the state and national levels.
