Host a Legislator for a Facility and Community Tour

Staff from Canterbury Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and Marquis Health Services welcome Del. Rodney Willett (D-Henrico, third from left) on a facility tour in 2024.
Extend an invitation: Now is the perfect time to invite members of the General Assembly and your member of Congress to tour your facility or community.
- Hosting a tour is a great way to showcase the quality care you provide and the unique elements of your day-to-day to your elected officials.
For your member of Congress: The upcoming congressional breaks in August and October are times when your representative will be at home in the district. This is an ideal time to try to arrange for a visit.
- It is important to remember that tours with Congressional staff members can be just as impactful as with a Member of Congress. The opportunity to show a Member of Congress or their staff the daily operations of and care for your community is an invaluable one in our continued efforts to enact positive change for the long term care profession.
For members of the General Assembly, take the time now to build your relationships and connections so during the legislative session in the winter, they understand your community and its needs.
