Last Chance to Provide Input on the DMAS Dental Services Survey

Last chance for input: DMAS has asked VHCA-VCAL to share a short survey so the agency can better understand how nursing facilities provide access to dental care for Medicaid members. The survey asks about your current dental care practices, any barriers you may encounter, and the types of support that could improve access for Medicaid beneficiaries.

  • Your responses, which are due by September 8, will directly inform statewide planning and potential initiatives, including mobile care strategies, pilot programs, and expanded partnerships.

Why it matters: DMAS recognizes the critical role that oral health plays in the overall health, comfort, and quality of life of nursing home residents. DMAS also understand that some long term care facilities may face challenges in connecting residents with timely and appropriate dental services.

  • Whether those challenges are due to transportation barriers, provider availability, or care coordination, DMAS wants to listen and learn from you directly.
