Non-Profit Offers to Brighten a Day for Residents

Brighten A Day, a non-profit created by Hita Gupta, a teen who volunteered in long term care facilities prior to the pandemic, is offering its free resources to actively engage residents and frontline workers.
During the pandemic, Brighten A Day has specifically been focused on isolated retirement home residents. One of its programs involves brightening residents’ days through virtual conversations with seniors. Brighten A Day has hundreds of volunteers of many ages (from teenagers to those are 70+). The volunteers share their variety of hobbies, interests, and languages known (many are bilingual) to actively engage in video chats or telephone calls with LTC residents across the country to bring them cheer. The nonprofit can also donate a new tablet to centers to help in video chatting with family and volunteers.
Visit https://brighten-a-day.org if you would like Brighten A Day to spread cheer to the residents or patients in your center. The non-profit will email you to request more information. All services are completely free of cost and our only goal is to spread positivity and cheer.
