As a reminder, VHCA-VCAL’s key budget requests are a continuation of the $20 per resident per day Medicaid add-on through June 30, 2022 while we work with legislators and the administration on developing permanent reimbursement reforms to replace the $20 per day. Second, we are requesting that the next scheduled Medicaid rebasing be deferred by one year to avoid the use of the 2020 cost reports as the base period because of the impact of the pandemic on the 2020 data. The House and Senate budget committees will be releasing their respective budgets on Sunday, February 7.
