Tell Legislators: Caregivers Need Resources
Key leaders of the Virginia’s budget-writing committees have begun negotiations on the state budget, including Medicaid funding for nursing facilities. We need your help in contacting them to explain the urgency of continuing the $20 per day Medicaid add-on through June 30, 2022 while the pandemic persists, and as we work to develop permanent, forward-thinking payment reforms. It takes just a few seconds to send your message.
The House and Senate have approved their respective budgets—the Senate version includes no funding for extending the $20 per day after June 30; the House version drops the add-on rate to $12 per day from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022.
Each body appoints a group of conferees to negotiate the final budget, which must be passed in identical form by both the House and Senate. Your grass roots outreach to these legislators is critical to our advocacy efforts.
