On September 20, AHCA/NCAL hosted a member webinar to provide you with the details about why we must all work together to oppose the Graham/Cassidy bill that would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. This bill matters because it would be devastating for skilled nursing providers and assisted living providers who rely on Medicaid. The time frame for action on this bill is short, therefore it is critical that we contact every Senate and House Republican in every state.

What You Can Do

The Senate must pass the bill by September 30 or it loses the right to pass it with 51 votes. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has announced that there will be a vote as soon as next Wednesday. You can see more details in the message from Mark Parkinson sent earlier this week.

To ensure our success in defeating this proposal, the most important thing you can do is this:

Call every Senate and House member that you have any connection to and tell them to vote NO. Register for AHCA/NCAL’s online grassroots Care Advocacy resource to easily locate and contact them. It’s important to call House members, as well. If the Senate does pass a bill, it will then come back to the House for a vote. The House members need to know that the Senate bill is much worse for us than the House version of repeal and replace.
