VDH Announced OLC Leadership Changes
What’s happening: On July 29, VDH formally informed VHCA-VCAL of leadership changes at the Office of Licensure and Certification (OLC) and its Long-Term Care Division.
- With the changes, former deputy director of OLC James L. Jenkins, Jr., RN has agreed to serve as the acting director while the agency conducts a search for a permanent director.
Additional changes: Kim Beazley has moved from Director of OLC into a newly created senior health policy advisor role in VDH’s Central Office. In this position she will play a critical role in advising the Commissioner and other senior VDH leaders on healthcare facility policy and regulation. Melissa Green, who has served as the LTC division director for the past year, resigned effective July 25.
- VDH has indicated it intends to fill these leadership positions with an eye towards change management and process improvement while focusing on strategic planning, enhanced recruitment and retention efforts of Medical Facility Inspectors (MFIs), and a pointed interest in providing the utmost support to the current team at OLC.
