VDH Encourages Use of mAb Infusions

VDH has asked VHCA-VCAL to share information about monoclonal antibody (mAb) infusions. Evidence suggests that mAb treatment can reduce the amount of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a person’s system. By decreasing the amount of virus or lowering the viral load, people infected have milder symptoms thereby decreasing the likelihood of hospitalization.

VDH has provided this overview of mAb therapeutics. Please share with your administrator, medical director, providers, and nursing leadership. In addition to referral information, it includes the most current information about the use of the combined cocktails (Bam/Ete & Casi/Inde) and other recent data from HHS on efficacy and outcomes. Additional resources are available on this VDH website: Monoclonal Antibodies (virginia.gov)
