Advocacy is a year-round job.
- There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
- The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.
Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of October 31, 2022.
- 10/31—Participated in the biweekly conference call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff.
- 10/31—Participated in DMAS’s Provider Focus Group monthly meeting.
- 11/1—Participated in the VDH Long Term Care (LTC) Cross Collaboration Assembly to strengthen the state’s infection prevention and control work.
- 11/1—Attended DMAS’s Benefit Impact Screen virtual meeting.
- 11/2—Attended the Medicaid Medical Care Advisory Committee meeting.
- 11/2—Monitored the Joint Commission on Health Care meeting.
- 11/2—Attended a political fundraiser for House of Minority Leader Del. Eileen Filler-Corn (D-Fairfax).
- 11/3—Participated in the NCAL state affiliate staff monthly call.
- 11/3—18 individuals attended the first session of the Legal Webinar Series, “Beam Me Up! Leveraging Telehealth Opportunities in Post-Pandemic World.”
- 11/3—Participated in a meeting hosted by DMAS on the Inter-rater Reliability Study (IRR) study.
