Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 10/16—Monitored the House of Delegates’ Appropriations Committee meeting.
• 10/17—Met with DMAS for a monthly meeting to discuss issues affecting nursing facilities.
• 10/18—Attended the quarterly DSS Board meeting.
• 10/18—Monitored the Joint Commission on Health Care meeting.
• 10/18—Participated in the AHCA/NCAL state affiliate network meeting.
