Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of February 10, 2025.

• 2/10—Met with Del. Mark Sickles (D-Springfield) to discuss VHCA-VCAL’s budget priorities.
• 2/10—Participated in the biweekly AHCA/NCAL call for state affiliate staff.
• 2/11—Attended the House Health and Human Services Committee’s health subcommittee meeting.
• 2/12—Participated in a meeting of AHCA’s Survey-Regulatory Committee.
• 2/13—Met with DMAS for a monthly check-in meeting on the Medicaid VBP Program.
