Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 4/21—Held a monthly meeting with DMAS leadership.
• 4/21—Participated in the biweekly conference call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff.
• 4/22—40 individuals attended the 2025 Assisted Living Symposium.
• 4/23—Provided an update on issues affecting nursing facilities after the 2025 legislative session as part of the American HealthCare, LLC’s spring management meeting in Roanoke.
• 4/24—The Western District and the Roanoke District held their spring meetings.
• 4/24—Participated in a meeting of AHCA/NCAL’s Leadership Identification and Development Committee.
• 4/25—Toured the Davis & McDaniel Veterans Care Center in Roanoke.
