Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 6/3—Participated in a workgroup led by the Claude Moore Foundation exploring legislative and regulatory issues to address healthcare workforce issues.
• 6/3—Attended the quarterly meeting of the Board of Medical Assistance Services.
• 6/4—Met with DMAS leaders for a monthly meeting to discuss issues affecting nursing facilities.
• 6/4—Participated in a meeting hosted by the Long Term Care Meeting Planners.
• 6/4—Attended a political fundraiser for Del. Charniele Herring (D-Alexandria).
• 6/5—Attended political fundraisers for Sen. Gazala Hashmi (D-Chesterfield) and Sen. Lashrecse Aird (D-Petersburg).
• 6/5—Attended the monthly update call for NCAL state affiliate staff.
• 6/5—Met with DMAS to discuss rate issues.
