Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 6/18—Participated in an AHCA/NCAL meeting for state affiliate staff on regulatory and quality issues.
• 6/18—Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital hosted a facility tour for Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA-03).
• 6/18—Attended a political fundraiser for Sen. Schyler Van Valkenberg (D-Henrico).
• 6/18—Attended the DMAS RUGs to PDPM Stakeholder workgroup meeting.
• 6/19—Visited Sunrise Villa Tuckahoe.
• 6/20—Attended a political fundraiser for Sen. Ryan McDougle (R-Hanover).
• 6/20—Berea Health and Rehab hosted a tour for staff from the office of Sen. Mark Warner.
• 6/20—Monroe Health and Rehabilitation Center hosted a facility tour for Sen. Creigh Deeds (D-Charlottesville).
• 6/20—Attended the kickoff of the VPHSC Data Strategy Workgroup.
• 6/20—Participated in a Working Interdisciplinary Networks of Guardianship Stakeholders (WINGS) steering committee meeting.
