VHCA-VCAL This Week

VHCA-VCAL This Week

VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.  Take a look at our activities this week:

  • 3/22—The VHCA-VCAL Board of Directors reviewed a draft of the strategic plan.
  • 3/22—VHCA-VCAL District officers met via conference call to plan the 2016 district meetings. More details to come.
  • 3/22—Paul Clements of Golden Living, Lance Long of American HealthCare, LLC and Matt Mansell attended the Board of Nursing Education/Accreditation Committee meeting during which the committee discussed issues related to requiring RN nursing program accreditation by 2020.
  • 3/24—Participated in the No Wrong Door Resource Advisory Committee meeting.
  • 3/24—The Roanoke District held its quarterly meeting in Lynchburg.  Associate member Katherine Londos of Frith Anderson & Peake, P.C., presented on trends in medical malpractice litigation.  Frith Anderson & Peake, P.C. sponsored the luncheon and Dynamic Mobile Imaging sponsored the door prize.
