VHCA-VCAL This Week

VHCA-VCAL This Week

VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.  Take a look at our activities this week:

  • 6/5-7—Attended the House Republican Caucus Retreat.
  • 6/7—Hosted the VHCA PAC Golf Tournament.
  • 6/7—Attended a reception for the House Democratic Caucus.
  • 6/8—Met with Joani Latimer, the Virginia Long Term Care Ombudsman.
  • 6/8—Attended a political fundraiser for Attorney General Mark Herring.
  • 6/9—Held the first meeting of the SMART Ad Hoc Committee to discuss members’ use of SMART.
