Wendy Walter Named to 2025-26 Future Leaders Class
What’s new: Wendy Walter, MA, LNHA, regional director of operations at CCR and the VHCA-VCAL Secretary/Treasurer, has been selected to represent Virginia in the AHCA/NCAL’s 2025/26 Future Leaders in Long Term Care program.
- Walter is among only 39 long term care professionals from around the country selected for the program.
- By participating in this program, members of each Future Leaders class will be better prepared to serve in vital roles within AHCA/NCAL and on behalf of the entire profession. By honing their knowledge and leadership skills these future leaders will help to advance quality and promote the profession’s mission of providing the highest quality, resident-centered care for frail, elderly, and disabled Americans.
“Wendy has dedicated her career to operational excellence and quality care for residents. She also has a deep commitment to sharing her knowledge with others. We are proud that she is part of the Future Leaders program and continues to serve in the VHCA-VCAL leadership,” said Keith Hare, President and CEO of VHCA-VCAL.
- A member of the CCR team for more than a dozen years, Walter has over 20 years of experience in long term care administration. She has maintained a focus on operational results, regulatory compliance, quality, and patient safety.
- She also serves the profession by volunteering for many years as a senior examiner for the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, providing education to providers in Virginia on quality and regulatory topics, and serving on numerous VHCA-VCAL committees and the Board of Directors.
About the program: The year-long program offers training and guidance to long term care/post-acute professionals.
- Selected participants both demonstrate leadership potential and represent the interests of both state and national LTC providers.
- The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction, and leadership.
