The Area Director of Clinical Compliance is responsible for administering, managing and maintaining Kissito Healthcare’s Clinical Compliance Program. Consistently demonstrates Kissito Healthcare’s core values of Integrity, Passion, Excellence and Respect.


Develops, implements and oversees the activities related to adherence to the policies and procedures covering the privacy of, access to, and security of patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the information privacy and security practices.
Performs initial and periodic information privacy and security risk assessments and conducts ongoing compliance monitoring activities.
Develops and ensures delivery of initial privacy and security orientation and ongoing training to all employees, contractors, alliances, business associates and other appropriate parties.
Establishes and administers a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating and taking action on all complaints concerning the privacy and security policies and procedures. Assures appropriate sanctions for failure to comply.
Establishes a mechanism to track access to protected health information in accordance with federal law.
Develops, implements and manages the clinical/patient information and records by analyzing present and potential utilization of health information records so that a complete history of each patient’s diagnosis, care and treatment is readily available at all times.
Plans and directs the collection and compilation of data for statistical reports for use by administration and professional staff.
Assures adherence to the International Classification of Diseases to assure accurate classification of treatment and disease.
Develops and educates treatment staff in health information issues applicable to their field of work.
Assures that release of patient information in response to requests from hospitals, physicians, attorneys, patients, family members and others occurs in compliance with federal and state law.
Develops, implements and oversees the quality improvement plan in accordance with the mission and strategic goals, federal and state laws, and accreditation standards.
Educates and trains the leadership, staff and business associates as to the quality improvement plan and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the quality improvement program.
Conducts and/or facilitates evaluations and assessments of current practices in order to identify strategies for the delivery of effective programs and services. Evaluates programs and services relating to compliance with accreditation standards; coordinates activities regarding the development and implementation of corrective plans.
Assists in the development of policies and procedures, operational guidelines, and contractual agreements relating to accreditation standards and best practice benchmarks.
Actively participates on or facilitates professional treatment and administrative committees such as Quality Assurance, High Risk Management, Medical Records, Security and Privacy, Compliance and others as assigned.
