Action Needed – Contact Legislators about VBP Funding in the Budget
What’s happening: The General Assembly will meet on April 17 to act on Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s budget amendment that would cut in half the Medicaid Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Program funding for FYs 2025-2026.
- For context, in March the General Assembly approved $81.6 million ($40.8 million) in VBP funding; the governor’s amendment would reduce that to $40.8 million ($20.4 million each year).
We need your help asking legislators to leave the VBP funding intact by opposing this amendment.
Why it matters: Legislators will consider the governor’s budget amendments on April 17, so time is running short to contact them.
- Even if you contacted your legislators earlier during the legislative session, contacts now are important as final action on the state budget for the next two years is imminent.
