Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 4/3—Participated in the biweekly call hosted by AHCA/NCAL for state affiliate staff.
• 4/4—The first session of the inaugural cohort of the VHCA-VCAL Business Academy kicked off.
• 4/6—The VCAL Committee met to continue its review of the Standards for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities.
• 4/6—Participated in an AHCA/NCAL meeting for state reimbursement specialists.
• 4/7—Participated in a meeting of the DMAS Nursing Facility Quality Improvement Program Workgroup.
