VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates. 

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession. 

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of July 30, 2018.  

• 7/31—Participated in a meeting of Virginia’s Working Interdisciplinary Networks of Guardianship Stakeholders (WINGS).
• 7/31—Participated in the biweekly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing conference calls with Virginia Premier and Anthem.
• 8/1-3—Keith Hare attended the American Society of Health Care Administration Executives (ASHCAE) meeting.
• 8/1—Participated in the biweekly biweekly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing conference calls with Magellan and United.
• 8/1—Attended a meeting of the Virginia Oral Health Coalition’s legislative committee.
• 8/1—Participated in an AHCA State Affiliate Network meeting.
• 8/1—Joined the AHCA webinar on the CMS FY 2019 SNF PPS Final Rule.
• 8/2—Participated in the biweekly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing conference calls with Aetna and Optima.
• 8/2—Participated in the monthly NCAL State Affiliates conference call.
• 8/2–Participated in the biweekly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing conference calls with Anthem.
