On August 18, the office of Gov. Terry McAuliffe approved the comprehensive rewrite of the assisted living standards. This is one of the final steps on the way to enacting regulatory change. 

At this time, the final effective date of the new regulations has not been announced. The next step in the regulatory process is submission to the Virginia Registrar for publication. You may comment via the Town Hall comment forum as soon as it is published in the Virginia Register of Regulations – sign up for the Town Hall email notification service to be notified when the comment forum opens.
