With the passing of former Virginia State Senator Charles “Chuck” J. Colgan, Dave Rumford, CEO of Birmingham Green expressed his appreciation for the senator’s efforts on behalf of long term care.  Sen. Colgan was Virginia’s longest-serving state senator having represented Prince William County for 40 years.

According to Rumford, “Senator Charles Colgan was a great and longstanding friend of Birmingham Green and its residents.  The senator took a personal interest in our organization, making regular visits over the years to offer his friendliness and kindness to all present.

With the help of Senator Colgan and his good friend, Delegate Harry Parrish, Birmingham Green benefited from state capital grants to assist with the building of Willow Oaks assisted living facility, completed in 2007.  The courtyard of the new facility was dedicated in their honor.”
