What’s new: Melissa Green has been named the director of the VDH Office of Licensure and Certification’s (OLC) division of long term care (LTC) services. She brings to the role over 30 years of LTC clinical and quality leadership experience. VHCA-VCAL is excited to work with Green in her new role.

About Green: Spurred by a love of the elderly, Melissa Green became a nurse to work in long term care. Within two years of entering the field, she secured a role in multi-facility management.

• In 2016 she and two partners founded Trio Healthcare where she served as the organization’s chief clinical officer and partner.
• She has served on numerous industry committees, task forces, and boards, including the VHCA-VCAL Board of Directors and as a member of the AHCA Quality Cabinet, Survey/Regulatory Committee, and the Ownership Council.
• She also dedicated countless hours in service to the Commonwealth of Virginia as a member of the Governor’s Task Force on COVID-19 and as a gubernatorial appointee to the Virginia Board of Health.
