Heritage Hall – Blacksburg Recognized with 2016 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award

silver awardOne long term and post-acute care provider in Virginia has earned the 2016 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).  Congratulations to Heritage Hall – Blacksburg!  The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which honors providers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality of care for residents and patients in long term and post-acute care centers and communities.

“The quality of care and quality of life in Virginia’s centers continues to improve because of dedicated providers like this year’s recipient,” said VHCA-VCAL President and CEO Keith Hare. “This is a well-deserved recognition for our members who provide the highest level of quality care to the residents and patients they serve every day. I applaud them for this recognition.”

Based on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program challenges member providers to achieve performance excellence through three progressive levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. At the Silver level, members develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes.

Silver recipients can advance in developing approaches that meet the criteria required for the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award. On June 1, the association announced 31 VHCA-VCAL members who earned the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award.  Later this summer, the names of the Gold awards will be announced.

The awards will be presented to recipients on October 18 during AHCA/NCAL’s 67th Annual Convention & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee.
