VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.

• 5/30—Met with staff of Remedi SeniorCare.
• 5/30—Attended a political fundraiser for Del. Jackson Miller (R-Manassas).
• 5/31—The Managed Care Committee chaired by David Hassenpflug met at VHCA-VCAL office.
• 5/31—Participated in the CCC Plus Nursing Facility Work Group Meeting hosted by DMAS.
• 5/31—Attended a political fundraiser for Del. Steve Landes (R-Augusta County). 
• 6/1—Attended the Virginia Board of Health meeting.
• 6/1—Participated in the monthly NCAL state affiliate conference call.
• 6/1—Participated in the AHCA webinar AHCA Call to Action: Requirements of Participation.
• 6/2—Attended a political fundraiser for Sen. Mamie Locke (D-Hampton).
• 6/2—Hosted the Geriatric Mental Health Partnership meeting.
