Tomorrow, March 13, is the deadline for the annual DMAS nursing facility wage survey.

• Participation is mandatory for all non-hospital-based nursing facilities participating in Virginia Medicaid or managed care plans. See this memo from DMAS for more details.

Why it matters: The wage survey data is the primary source of data DMAS uses to calculate the Virginia-specific annual Medicaid inflation factor.

• Even if the General Assembly does not fund the inflation increase, having an accurate inflation factor is critical to our future advocacy work and the rebasing calculation.

To access the survey: Go to DMAS’s Nursing Facilities webpage.

• Scroll to the Wage Survey section for links to the agency cover letter, data entry form, Excel workbook, and FAQs.
• The “Provider Enrollment Wizard” link will direct you to a webpage where you can navigate to the Provider Portal.
