VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates. 

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.

• 3/21—Participated in AHCA/NCAL’s weekly legislative conference call.
• 3/21—Met with August Healthcare to discuss VHCA-VCAL initiatives.
• 3/21—Participated in the Virginia Nursing Association’s Access to Mental Health workgroup call.
• 3/22—VHCA’s Convention & Trade Show Committee met by Zoom.
• 3/23—Participated in a subcommittee meeting for Working Interdisciplinary Networks of Guardianship Stakeholders (WINGS).
• 3/23-25—Attended the National Investment Center Spring Conference: Care and Housing for Older Adults.
• 3/24—Participated in a meeting of the DMAS Nursing Facility Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Stakeholder Group.
• 3/24—Participated in a Pharmscript – Operational and Clinical Trends for 2022 – Moving Forward webinar led by Pathways.
• 3/24—Met with Anthony Laflen of PointClickCare to discussion of patient-centered care post-acute management tools.
