Jackson and Hewett Appointed to New AHCA/NCAL Committee

What’s new: AHCA/NCAL has established a Leadership Identification and Development Committee tasked with continuously identifying, engaging, developing, and recommending qualified and diverse candidates for AHCA/NCAL leadership positions.

  • Ashley Jackson, LNHA, MBA of Saber Healthcare Group and VHCA-VCAL’s Amy Hewett, CAE were selected as two of the nine members of the new committee.

 

About Ashley: Jackson is currently regional vice president of operations for Saber Healthcare Group. Previously she served in roles as a senior executive director and administrator for RUI and American HealthCare, LLC, respectively.

  • She began working in long term care at the age of 15, went on to complete her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate, earn a degree in health services administration from James Madison University, and later a master of business administration from Saint Leo University.
  • Under her leadership, Heritage Hall – Virginia Beach won the AHCA Bronze Commitment to Quality and Silver Achievement in Quality Awards.
  • Jackson was named the VHCA-VCAL Nursing Facility Administrator of the Year in 2016.
  • She currently serves as the vice chair of the Board of Long Term Care Administrators as well as on VHCA-VCAL’s Quality and Regulatory Committee, the VCAL Committee, and is chairman for VHCA-VCAL’s Tidewater district.

 

About Amy: Hewett, VHCA-VCAL’s vice president of strategy and communications, is an experienced association professional who has worked with a broad range of organizations—from national trade and non-profit associations to statewide trade and professional organizations in Virginia for more than 20 years.

  • She holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, the highest professional credential in the association industry.
  • Since 2018 she has served as an officer of the Society of Long Term Care Communicators, a professional development group for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff who do public affairs and communications work. She previously served two terms on the board of directors of the Virginia Society of Association Executives.
  • Hewett graduated cum laude from the College of William and Mary with a degree in government.
