What’s new: Karen Stanfield, chief operating officer of Saber Healthcare Group LLC and the VHCA-VCAL Vice Chair, has been selected to represent Virginia in the AHCA/NCAL’s 2023/24 Future Leaders in Long Term Care program.

“Karen is attuned to the needs of residents and staff honed through her consistent commitment to quality care. We are thrilled that she is part of the Future Leaders program and continues to serve in the VHCA-VCAL leadership,” said Keith Hare, President and CEO of VHCA-VCAL.

• Stanfield has been an RN for more than three decades. She became a licensed nursing home administrator in 1996 and has served as a nursing home preceptor since 2001.
• She has served on the Virginia Board of Long Term Care Administrators, as well as numerous VHCA-VCAL committees and the Board of Directors.

About the program: The year-long program offers training and guidance to long term care/post-acute professionals.

• Selected participants both demonstrate leadership potential and represent the interests of both state and national LTC providers.
• The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction, and leadership.
