VHCA This Week

The Virginia Health Care Association’s (VHCA) advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job. While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession. Take a look at our activities this week:

  • 10/19—Attended a political fundraiser for Del. Keith Hodges (R-Middlesex Co.).
  • 10/19—Submitted written comments to the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) on its concept paper on the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program.
  • 10/20—VHCA staff traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with AHCA/NCAL staff, including Mark Parkinson, to learn more about the resources AHCA/NCAL can share with VHCA.
  • 10/21—VHCA staff met with David Brown, Director of the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • 10/22—Attended the DSRIP stakeholder focus group meeting on Virginia Integration Partners.
  • 10/23—Attended data integration DSRIP stakeholder focus group meeting.
