VDH updated the previously developed Toolkit for Long-Term Care Facilities (LTCFs) to Sustain COVID-19 Vaccine Access to ensure facilities have the necessary information to access COVID-19 vaccine, as well as the appropriate resources to contact if facilities require additional assistance. The “Vaccination: Long-Term Care Facilities” section of the VDH Vaccination FAQ webpage has also been updated.

LTCFs have been and continue to be encouraged to revert to their regular facility-pharmacy operations in regard to acquiring the COVID-19 vaccine for their residents and/or staff. The toolkit includes recommended steps LTCFs can take to maintain needed access to the COVID-19 vaccines.

The toolkit was originally published in May 2021; the current version is dated September 29, 2021. The newest FAQs are dated 9/28/2021.
