Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 9/16—Participated in the biweekly call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff.
• 9/17—Monitored the quarterly meeting of the Board of Medical Assistance Services.
• 9/18—Met with DMAS to check in on issues related to the Medicaid Value-Based Purchasing Program.
• 9/18—Hosted a meeting of the Nursing Facility Advisory Council.
• 9/18—Participated in the biweekly AHCA/NCAL call for constituency councils.
• 9/19—Attended an AHCA/NCAL webinar on bundled payment models.
• 9/19—Participated in the AHCA/NCAL monthly call for state public relations directors.
• 9/19—Met with DMAS to discuss issues related to the transition from RUGS to PDPM.
